My Updates

The New Brighton Residents Association posts regular updates and news, which can be seen here.

Rink Update

The NBRA wanted to send out a quick note to let you know that we are TRYING really hard to get the rinks up and running for the season!  Great progress was made last week with many late night floods, however; this week’s warm weather is melting a lot of that progress.  Please be sure to stay tuned here for further updates… as it will be posted, as soon as the rinks are open for the season.

Pond on the corner of McIvor Blvd.

The NBRA has received several phone calls regarding work that is being completed at the pond on the corner of McIvor Blvd and New Brighton Ave (across from Shell). After speaking with Kidco (the company carrying out the work) it has been determined that: the pond behind the car dealerships is being drained into the pond across from Shell, in order to measure silt levels in the pond and remove garbage. The pond will be filled back up again, once this work is completed. Any further questions on concerns can be directed to the City of Calgary, by calling 311.

Thank You!

A special thank you to our amazing event sponsors! It is truly your support and generosity that has helped make each and every one of our events special, we appreciate everything you do!! What happened to the Clubhouse property fence?

On December 2, 2018, a vehicle lost control while turning from New Brighton Gate onto New Brighton Drive and impacted the New Brighton Clubhouse fence.  Luckily no one was injured during the accident. The NBRA is working to have the fence permanently repaired as soon as possible.  Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Maintenance Mondays

New Brighton is looking merry and bright! If you are decorating your home this holiday season be sure to follow these tips for a fun and safe home display. #1. Check all wires and cords and replace burned out bulbs. This is easier to do in the warmth of your home before you hang anything out. This saves you from frustrating troubleshooting once you are finished. #2. Keep electrical cords neat and tidy to prevent tripping hazards and be sure not to overload your circuits with too many lights. #3. Make sure lights are CSA approved for the appropriate environment. Indoor lights should be used only indoor and outdoor lights should only be used outside. #4. Only set ladders on firm dry ground and always have a buddy to hold the ladder steady. #5. Have fun getting creative. Start small and you can build on it each year, the sky is the limit!
