The New Brighton Residents Association is proud to host several events each year. These events are free to attend and open to all New Brighton residents (in good standing). Due to space constraints, some events require RSVP.

Babysitting Night

Babysitting (children must be potty trained) Want a night out without the kids? Let us look after your little ones while you enjoy some quality time. Registration is required by registering online (My Programs, Workshops) https://nbra.perfectmind.com, visiting the front desk or by calling 403-781-6613 ext 1 Rate $10/child A light snack & drink will be offered during the evening. Please feel free to pack nut free snacks/drinks for your children should they need more. *please note:  Payment will be taken at time of booking.

The NBRA is excited to host the New Brighton Seniors Club, offering a variety of different activities including cards, crafts, games, great conversation and so much more. Spend your time enjoying new activities, meeting new friends, and exploring everything that the NBRA has to offer.

3 on 3 Hockey Tournament

Winter is here! It’s time to lace up your skates and join in for an action-packed weekend of Canada’s favourite sport with the NBRA's 15th Annual 3 on 3 Hockey Tournament! The tournament will consist of 12 teams, 6 players and a goalie all playing for the gold medal! Be sure to register your team early as space fills fast! For your team to be fully registered a registration package must be filled out. A package can also be picked up at the New Brighton Clubhouse (2 New Brighton Drive S.E.). Registration Deadline: January 10/2020

Movie in the Clubhouse

Join the NBRA every month for an exciting evening of family fun with movies curated for our wonderful New Brighton families! Indulge in freshly popped theater style popcorn, pop, and a hit movie, all for the low price of $5 for the entire family! The Clubhouse offers a cozy space for the kids to get comfortable and plenty of seating for parents to sit back and relax. Come in and enjoy the surround sound system that fills the room! Check out the website and Facebook pages to find each month’s movie. Show starts at 7:00! Get ready to spend a great evening with your family and most importantly, enjoy the show!        

Good Food Box

The Good Food Box (GFB) is a program under the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary whereby you can purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at a very low cost. The Good Food Box is a hands-up program as opposed to hands-out. They offer all Calgarians’ sustainable access to nutritious food to ensure that no one has to go hungry. The boxes are put together and delivered by dedicated volunteers who along with The Community Kitchen desire to see individuals and families accessing affordable nutritious food. Interested in getting a box? Visit us in the main office, or call 403-781-6613 to place your order! Cut off: January 14th at noon     Delivery: January 24th

Spend the morning with the NBRA listening to stories and singing songs that the whole family can enjoy! Great for ages 0-5 years! Everyone is welcome for this free drop in!

Family Chess Club (5+yrs)

The NBRA is excited to offer monthly Family Chess Club! Parents, bring your children out and show them your love of the game! Boards and snacks will be provided for a $2 drop in fee *Please note this session is for participants 5+ years, and parent attendance is required.

Tween's Night Out (10-14yrs)

($2 drop in, includes snacks)        Let’s have some fun to the Clubhouse! Tweens and teens are invited to a night of games, competitions & good times.  Doors open at 7pm so grab your friends and meet us there.

Canvas Creations (18+)

Come for a relaxing evening of creativity! Learn the technique behind different painting styles and get in touch with your inner artist while visiting with friends! Create your masterpiece from start to finish and take it home to show off your new skills. Drinks will be available for the duration of the workshop. *Note: 1st drink is included with program cost, additional drinks will be sold at a cost of $5 each at the cash bar.

Something to Wine About (18+)

Seton Highlander Wine & Spirits will be on site to educate participants on wines with a common theme! Experience 6 different wines (3 red, 3 white), while enjoying some palate cleansing snacks. Participants will discover the history of the vineyards used, the hues in the wine, and price points of each bottle. Fee includes samples of 6 different wines. Should you find a new favorite, orders for bottles can be made during the workshop to be picked up at Highlander at a later time.
