The New Brighton Residents Association is proud to host several events each year. These events are free to attend and open to all New Brighton residents (in good standing). Due to space constraints, some events require RSVP.

Seniors Club

The NBRA is excited to host the New Brighton Seniors Card Club ($2 drop in), offering a variety of different card games and great conversations each week. Spend the afternoon enjoying games and meeting new friends!   

Tween's Night Out (10-14yrs)

Tween Night (10-14 yrs only) - 7pm-8:30pm Let’s have some fun to the Clubhouse! New Brighton Tweens (10-14 yrs only) are invited to a night of games, competitions & good times.  Doors open at 7pm so grab your friends and meet us there. *Tweens ages 10 & 11 must have a parent sign them in & out to participate.* ($2 drop in, includes snacks)   RSVP is required

Canvas Creations (18+)

Come to the Clubhouse for a relaxing evening of creativity! Learn the technique behind different painting styles and get in touch with your inner artist while visiting with friends! Create your masterpiece from start to finish and take it home to show off your new skills. Drinks will be available for the duration of the workshop. *Note: 1st drink is included with program cost, additional drinks will be sold at a cost of $5 each at the front desk*

Movie Night Popcorn Packs

Looking to kick up your Family Movie Night a notch? The NBRA is now offering $12 Movie Night Popcorn Packs!  Each pack includes: 2 Medium bags of Theatre-Style Popcorn 2 Juice boxes 2 Pop (your choice from assorted selection) 2 Chocolate bars (your choice from assorted selection) 2 Candy treats (your choice from assorted selection) To place orders, please call 403-781-6613 ext 1 Orders must be placed by 5pm Thursday, November 13th                                   Pick up for boxes Friday, November 14th between 5:30pm-7:30pm Packs are $12.+ GST

Grand South Christmas Market

All vendor spaces at New Brighton's portion of the Grand South Christmas Market are now full. Thank you to all of those who registered! The NBRA is looking for in-kind donatations to add to the Grand South Market stocking! This stocking is made in association with all other communities participating and will be raffled off to one lucky winner! Tot Time

Tot Time (Wednesdays 1:30pm-3:00pm) - $2.Drop in Bring your little ones and join a fun afternoon of socialization and unstructured free play with the Bounce House. Parents can enjoy coffee and great company while the kids bounce around!      

Holiday Soap Making Workshop

Get into the festive spirit with our Holiday Soap Making Workshop just for tweens! Participants will learn how to create their own beautifully scented, holiday-inspired soaps; perfect for gifting or keeping for themselves. We’ll provide all the materials, plus plenty of room for creativity with colors, molds, and fragrances. As they craft, tweens can enjoy snacks and hot chocolate while a cozy holiday movie plays in the background. Price is $15/person for residents.

Babysitting Night

Want a night out without the kids? Let us look after your little ones while you enjoy some quality time. Children must be fully potty trained. Registration is required by registering online (My Programs, Workshops) https://nbra.perfectmind.com, visiting the front desk or by calling 403-781-6613 ext 1 Residents: $25/child Non-Residents: $30/child Pizza, a light snack & drink will be offered during the evening. Please feel free to pack nut free snacks/drinks for your children should they need more. *please note: In order to confirm registration, payment will be taken at time of booking.    

Motivational Magic Show with Steve Harmer

For the past 22 years Steve Harmer of Motivational Magic has combined his entertainment skills with his educational skills to present Magic programs throughout the four western Canadian provinces. His magic of story-telling and puppetry will inspire the audience. Through his super fun creative shows Steve brings bright smiles and delight to kids and parents alike. **RATE is PER FAMILY (of 4). Good Food Box

The Good Food Box (GFB) is a program under the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary whereby you can purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at a very low cost. The Good Food Box is a hands-up program as opposed to hands-out. They offer all Calgarians’ sustainable access to nutritious food to ensure that no one has to go hungry. The boxes are put together and delivered by dedicated volunteers who along with The Community Kitchen desire to see individuals and families accessing affordable nutritious food.  Cut off: July 15th at NOON Delivery: July 25th                                              Small: $30 Medium: $35 Large: $40

12 Days of Giving

Keep your eyes on the New Brighton social media accounts from December 4th to the 15th and participate in the 2025 12 Days of Giving! A fantastic new basket of hand selected items will be posted each day with a prompt on how you can enter the giveaway raffle.  The winner of each basket will be shared the following day at 10am, with a new basket being posted the following hour at 11am. Participation is open to everyone, both residents of New Brighton and non-residents living outside the community! All winners are selected via random chance using wheelofnames.com.

Christmas in the Clubhouse

The weather outside is frightful, but Santa’s cheer is so delightful! On Saturday, December 6th, 2025 Santa will be making a special appearance at the New Brighton Clubhouse! Little residents and their families are invited to Santa’s workshop to get their picture taken, share their Christmas wish, and participate in holiday-inspired activities/crafts. This event will run from 9am-12pm & 1pm-4pm split up hourly using timeslots residents will be able to RSVP for. Gingerbread House Workshop

New Brighton Night at the Museum

Registrations are now open for the 2026 New Brighton Night at the Museum, call 403-781-6613 EXT 1. to register your family! This unique event takes place on Friday, February 27th 2026 at 6:30pm until the following morning at the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller. Camper tickets are $39.99 (GST included)/person & include a variety of games/activities, snacks, a delicious breakfast, and full museum admission on the 28th! From September 24th - January 6th only New Brighton Residents may register for this event. Past January 6th this event will be open to anyone living outside of the New Brighton community. Children must be aged 5-13 years to attend the sleepover, this is a Royal Tyrrell Museum rule Children attending the museum sleepover must have an adult staying the night with them.  All participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the museum. Refunds prior to January 14th 2026 will be subject to a $15.75 event cancellation fee. No-refunds will be given past January 14th 2026.
