The New Brighton Residents Association is proud to host several events each year. These events are free to attend and open to all New Brighton residents (in good standing). Due to space constraints, some events require RSVP.

Seniors Club

The NBRA is excited to host the New Brighton Seniors Club, offering a variety of different activities including cards, crafts, games, great conversation and so much more. Spend your time enjoying new activities, meeting new friends, and exploring everything that the NBRA has to offer.  

Movie in the Clubhouse

Join the NBRA every month for an exciting evening of family fun with movies curated for our wonderful New Brighton families! Indulge in freshly popped theater style popcorn, pop, and a hit movie, all for the low price of $5 for the entire family! The Clubhouse offers a cozy space for the kids to get comfortable and plenty of seating for parents to sit back and relax. Come in and enjoy the surround sound system that fills the room! Check out the website and Facebook pages to find each month’s movie. Show starts at 7:00! Get ready to spend a great evening with your family and most importantly, enjoy the show!  

Babysitting Night

Want a night out without the kids? Let us look after your little ones while you enjoy some quality time. *Please note this program is for New Brighton Residents only and all children must be fully potty trained. Registration is required by registering online (My Programs, Workshops) https://nbra.perfectmind.com, visiting the front desk or by calling 403-781-6613 ext 1 Rate $15/child A light snack & drink will be offered during the evening. Please feel free to pack nut free snacks/drinks for your children should they need more. *please note: In order to confirm registration, payment will be taken at time of booking.

Tween's Night Out (10-14yrs)

Tween Night (1st Friday of the month 7pm-8:30pm) Let’s have some fun to the Clubhouse! Tweens and teens are invited to a night of games, competitions & good times.  Doors open at 7pm so grab your friends and meet us there. *Tweens ages 10 & 11 must have a parent sign them in & out to participate. * ($2 drop in, includes snacks)   RSVP is required         

Community Street Market

Join the NBRA on Saturday June 4th, 2022 from 10am-2pm for the Annual Community Street Market. This outdoor event has something for everyone, shop local with 27+ vendors and enjoy a delicious lunch from one of the two food trucks on-site. Parade of Garage Sales

Want to have a hassle-free garage sale but don’t want to do the advertising? You can register your address today for only $10 and the NBRA does all the work for you! Your address will be advertised on FaceBook, Instagram and on a community map showing all the garage sales happening in New Brighton. The community map will be handed out to all shoppers attending the Community Street Market! Garage sale signs will be put out around New Brighton showing where the garage sales are. Each resident that signs up will also receive a garage sale sign for there front lawn! How to reguster your home: 1. Call 403-781-6613 ext 1 to pay for the $10 garage sale fee 2. You will than be added onto the list

Community Clean Up

Community Cleanups save New Brighton residents a trip to the landfill for items that do not fit in their waste and recycling carts. Onsite vendors include: City of Calgary waste truck WINS – Charity Donations ActionTyre – Tires & Car Batteries Kiwanis  - Bike Recycling Navajo – Metals Shanked – Electronics Best Shredding – Paper shredding   Items NOT being accepted COMPOST Household chemicals Glass Paint – Metals Propane/Helium Tanks YYC FOOD TRUCKS will be onsite from 11:00am-1:30pm!

Canvas Creations (18+)

Come to the Clubhouse for a relaxing evening of creativity! Learn the technique behind different painting styles and get in touch with your inner artist while visiting with friends! Create your masterpiece from start to finish and take it home to show off your new skills. Drinks will be available for the duration of the workshop. *Note: 1st drink is included with program cost, additional drinks will be sold at a cost of $5 each at the front desk*

Good Food Box

The Good Food Box (GFB) is a program under the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary whereby you can purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at a very low cost. The Good Food Box is a hands-up program as opposed to hands-out. They offer all Calgarians’ sustainable access to nutritious food to ensure that no one has to go hungry. The boxes are put together and delivered by dedicated volunteers who along with The Community Kitchen desire to see individuals and families accessing affordable nutritious food.  Cut off: May 31st at NOON Delivery: June 10th                      Small: $25 Medium: $30 Large: $35

Movie Night Popcorn Packs

Looking to kick up your Family Movie Night a notch? The NBRA is now offering $12 Movie Night Popcorn Packs!  Each pack includes: 2 Medium Bags of Theatre Style Popcorn 2 Juice Boxes 2 Pop (your choice from assorted selection) 2 Chocolate bars (your choice from assorted selection) 2 Candy treats (your choice from assorted selection) To place orders, please call 403-781-6613 ext 1 Orders must be placed by 5pm Thursday, June 9th         Pick up for boxes Friday, June 10th between 5:30pm-7:30pm Packs are $12.+ GST

One Stop Boxes

The NBRA is excited to offer “One Stop Boxes” suitable for families of all sizes these boxes are $25, with two types available: Quality Time (great for date night) and Family Fun Night Boxes! All you have to do is place your order before the cut-off date and get ready to unbox your night of fun! The best part about the NBRA’s “One Stop Boxes” is that, unlike other box services… no subscription is necessary... you can just order the box for the month(s) you desire! Theatre in the Clubhouse - A Tortoise and Hare Story

Frontrunner Fable:A Tortoise and Hare Story It's the Forestville 5th annual footrace and best friends, Toby Tortoise and Harriett Hare are beyond excited! They have the gear! They have the determination! They've even met with Monty and Molly Moose, personal trainers to the animal stars! If anyone's going to win this race it's going to be one of them! Beer Gardens

Kick off your summer with the NBRA! Grab your neighbour's and head on down to the Clubhouse for an eventful evening of live music and a DJ, prizes, refreshing beverages, food trucks and fun lawn games to play all night long! This event is 18+, all adults regardless of age MUST show their drivers license before entering the beer gardens, due to licensing requirements. Drink tickets will be $5 each and can be purchased with cash inside the Tennis Court (Beer Gardens). This event is for New Brighton residents and their guests! RSVP is required for all residents/guests and children attending the child care program.  Due to this event being adults only, children (0-17yrs) are not permitted inside the Tennis Courts (Beer Gardens) at any time. There will be child care offered inside the Clubhouse for the duration of the event for a small additional fee of $10. The $10 fee MUST be paid in the main office before your child enters the room.
