The New Brighton Residents Association is proud to host several events each year. These events are free to attend and open to all New Brighton residents (in good standing). Due to space constraints, some events require RSVP.

Chess Club

The NBRA is excited to offer monthly chess club! Challenge your neighbours to a friendly competition of skill and wit. Boards and snacks will be provided for a $2 drop in fee; making this the perfect night out for those who know the game and those interested in learning!

Bring your little ones and join a fun morning of socialization and unstructured free play all while parents enjoy coffee, snacks and great company!

Seniors Club

The NBRA is excited to host the New Brighton Seniors Club, offering a variety of different activities including cards, crafts, games, great conversation and so much more. Spend your time enjoying new activities, meeting new friends, and exploring everything that the NBRA has to offer.

Tween's Night Out (10-14yrs)

Hawaiian Luau! ($2 drop in, includes snacks)        Let’s bring a little summer to the Clubhouse! Tweens and teens are invited to a night of grass skirts, lays, dancing, limbo and Hawaiian themed treats! Doors open at 7pm so grab your friends and meet us there.

Winter Carnival

Let’s celebrate the winter season in New Brighton’s Winter Wonderland! On Saturday, March 2nd from 12-3pm visit the Clubhouse for a seasonally inspired afternoon of fun! Snowball fights, snowman-building competitions, snow cones, skating, warm treats and so much more await! The NBRA’s 2nd Annual Winter Carnival is sure to delight and leave you feeling like your walking in a winter wonderland! This event is free of charge and for members and their friends, however space is limited and RSVP is required. Want to get involved with the NBRA’s events? Trivia Night (18+)

Grab your friends and neighbours and come out for a challenging night of Game Show Trivia and Binko with the NBRA and Send it Entertainment. Gift card prizes will be available for those winning the trivia games! Entrance is free, snacks provided, wine & beer available for $5. each

Canvas Creations (18+)

Come for a relaxing evening of creativity! Learn the technique behind different painting styles and get in touch with your inner artist while visiting with friends! Create your masterpiece from start to finish and take it home to show off your new skills. Drinks will be available for the duration of the workshop. *Note: 1st drink is included with program cost, additional drinks will be sold at a cost of $5 each at the cash bar.

Calgary Public Library Storytime

Spend the morning with the Calgary Public Library listening to stories and singing songs that the whole family can enjoy! Great for ages 0-5 years! The book truck will also be on site during these mornings from 10am - 12pm. Everyone is welcome for this free drop in!

Suit Case Party

Let’s bring some sunshine to the Clubhouse with the first Annual Suit Case Party. Residents and friends 18+ are invited for cocktails, snacks, dancing and a good old fashioned neighbour party with a vacation theme on March 16th from 8pm-12am! Dress in your travel favs for a chance to win some awesome prizes! All those in attendance will be entered into a draw to be held that night for a chance to win a $2,000 travel voucher to your favorite destination. Cost: $10/each Please note this is an adult only event 

Babysitting Night

Babysitting (children must be potty trained) Want a night out without the kids? Let us look after your little ones while you enjoy some quality time. RSVP is required by emailing activities@nbra.ca Rate $10/first child, $7/second child, $5/ three + children  *please note:  Payment will be taken at time of booking.

Wine with the Board

The NBRA Board of Directors invites you for a wine and cheese evening of mingling with the Resident Directors, an opportunity to learn updates about NBRA happenings, as well as an opportunity to voice concerns. The perfect way to become familiar with your Board of Directors in an inviting and entertaining setting!

Help! The Easter Bunny’s eggs have escaped! Hop on down the bunny trail on Saturday April 13th from 10-12pm or 1-3pm to the Clubhouse for your first clue in the community wide hunt. Once you have collected your eggs join the Easter Bunny himself for egg decorating, games, photo booth and more Eggcellent fun!    This event is free of charge for members and their friends, however; space is limited. Community Street Market

It’s time to do some treasure hunting, with the perfect combination of an outdoor market, consignment shopping, garage sales and food truck eats! On Saturday May 11th, 2019 from 9am – 3pm the New Brighton Resident’s Association will be hosting the 4th Annual Community Street Market in the Clubhouse arena and throughout this wonderful community. This event is open to the public so grab your friends for a day of deals, laughs, good food and treasure hunting! Interested in becoming a vendor? Application forms for both adults and youth vendors are available in the main office or by contacting the Recreation Leader at recreation@nbra.ca Map spaces are available for all garage sale hosts. Something to Wine About (18+)

Seton Highlander Wine & Spirits will be on site to educate participants on wines with a common theme! Experience 6 different wines (3 red, 3 white), while enjoying some palate cleansing snacks. Participants will discover the history of the vineyards used, the hues in the wine, and price points of each bottle. Fee includes samples of 6 different wines. Should you find a new favorite, orders for bottles can be made during the workshop to be picked up at Highlander at a later time.
